  • The Council resolved to pay the ‘Basic Parish Allowance’ to members, as recommended by the East Kent Joint Parish Independent Remuneration Panel’s Quadrennial Review for 2021-2025 (a separate press release explaining this in more detail will be forthcoming).

  • The budget and precept for 2022/2023 was approved and there will be 0% change to the Council Tax (a separate press release explaining this in more detail will be forthcoming this week).

  • £20,000 was awarded to the Citizen’s Advice Bureau to continue to provide a part-time debt analyst throughout 2022/2023, on the understanding that the point of delivery must be in Ramsgate, to be accessible for residents.

  • £3,000 was awarded to Screaming Alley CIC to purchase theatre standard sound & lighting equipment.

  • £2,723 was awarded to Ramsgate Sea Cadets for the purchase of IT equipment to support a Rembrandt 6 Ship Manoeuvering Simulator and various tables and chairs.

  • £1,300.98 was awarded to Mooch for a temporary art installation on the public conveniences at Pier Yard.

  • £2,750 was awarded to the Miss Ramsgate Organisation for clothing for the Courts and refurbishment and decoration of the carnival float.

  • A Climate Change Emergency was declared (a separate press release explaining this in more detail will be forthcoming).

  • A grant will be submitted to The National Archives ‘Scoping Grant Fund’ to assist with understanding and cataloguing the Town’s historic documentation and artefacts.

  • The Chair of the Council will represent the Council on the “Levelling Up Fund Executive Group”, working alongside the Leader of TDC and the Member of Parliament.

  • The Council will invite a member of TDC’s Cabinet/Management Team to discuss the Ramsgate Future Plan, and seek to be a stakeholder in the “linear garden” and beach club proposals.

  • The Town Council will seek an update from the district council regarding the welfare provisions for the Pavee Travellers, who are in the Port.
