- THANET LOCAL PLAN
The committee considered the report of Miss Laura Fidler, Town Clerk & RFO and Council’s response in respect to Thanet District Council’s partial update of the Thanet Local Plan.
RESOLUTION: Councillors to consider the TDC reports and send their individual comments to the Town Clerk by 19th January 2022 for collation.
- PROPOSED PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY: NETHERCOURT
The committee considered the report of Miss Laura Fidler, Town Clerk & RFO regarding an alleyway in Nethercourt and whether it should be proposed to KCC for adoption as a Public Right of Way.
RESOLUTION: The Town Clerk to proceed with an application to Kent
County Council to have the alleyway adopted as a Public Right of Way.
- The committee considered 2 planning applications raising the following concerns:
F/TH/21/1700 – 20 – 24 Harbour Street, CT11 8HA
Change of use of part ground floor from retail into a 2 bedroom flat.
RESOLUTION: Ramsgate Town Council objects to the application on the grounds of the loss of ground floor retail space and considers the unit size to be inappropriate; the lack of windows and only partial light coming through the rear of the unit.
F/TH/21/1835 – 17 High Street, St Lawrence
Change of use of a dis-used public house to a one bedroom flat (C3) a 4 bedroom HMO (C4) and a 5 bedroom HMO (C4).
RESOLUTION: Ramsgate Town Council objects to the application on the grounds that it is considered as over development of the site; it is considered an inappropriate location for the development; the loss of a public amenity and no clear evidence of the non-viability of the public house.
NB. The town council is a statutory consultee on planning applications; the decision is ultimately made by Thanet District Council.
