News / Ramsgate Through The Senses
The weekend of March 18 – 20, 2022 will see the arrival of a new festival called
Ramsgate Through The Senses, a sister event to Ramsgate Festival of Sound. Developed as part of the Experience Kent initiative, backed by Visit Kent, Thanet District Council and Interreg, the brief was to come up with a new experiential activity during the off-peak season. Drawing on their combined backgrounds in hospitality, events and music, producers Gemma Dempsey and Helen Emler have put together an exciting programme of activities ranging from curated dining experiences to sea shanty workshops and guided foraging walks.
Exploring how our senses impact our experiences, there will be unique food and beverage tasting events with specially created dishes from Adrian Mowl ('The Royal Harbour Brasserie), Marc-Pierre (Marc-Pierre's Kitchen), Bruce Stratford aka Nomada Chef (Eats 'N' Beats), Luke Crittenden (Arya) with locally produced wine, beer and cider selected by Master of Wine, Clive Barlow. In addition to these culinary based evenings, there will be rousing sea shanties from The Snottledogs for children and adults alike, a range of therapeutic treatments that connect us through touch and energy, as well as talks from food experts and local creatives.
All of the events will be held in and around Ramsgate.
