Introducing the RNLI Thanet Fundraising Group

The RNLI have taken the decision to merge the Ramsgate Fundraising Branch and the Margate, Birchington and Districts Branch. This change will allow the RNLI to reach all parts of Thanet, to benefit both lifeboat stations in Thanet. All the current fundraising streams for RNLI Ramsgate remain and new streams are being set up for RNLI Margate.

Once we are allowed to fundraise again, we will be able to share with you the details about our normal events like the Street Collection in August and the Fish Supper in September/October. We may be able to fit in a Quiz Night and we will look to have a Carol Service in December, if at all possible. The RNLI fundraising activity should not look any different in Ramsgate but the bigger group of volunteers will also be active in Broadstairs, Margate and Birchington to the benefit of the RNLI.

Two of our volunteers, Karen Cox (Ramsgate Press Officer) and Sarah Hewes (Thanet Group Leader) walked nine miles for their Mayday Mile on May 5, starting at the Margate Lifeboat Station and finishing at the Ramsgate Lifeboat Station. They received fantastic support and raised £675 for the RNLI Mayday Campaign.
