News / Thanet District Council: Dedicated Helpline (COVID-19)
Protecting the most vulnerable
There is a dedicated helpline for residents who are vulnerable and are self-isolating or social shielding in line with NHS Advice.
It has been set up to ensure that the most vulnerable people in our community, who are unable to go outside to buy supplies, are helped to get the things they need.
Those residents should call:
01843 577330
The helpline will be open from 9am to 5pm, every day of the week, including weekends. There will be dedicated people available to take calls, handle requests and put callers in contact with the relevant organisations or council services that are in place to provide support and vulnerable people at this time, particularly those without friends or family to assist them.
We will be working in partnership with local organisations Age UK and Global Generation Church to establish a centralised logistics hub to help the Government to assist people who are social shielding in getting access to essentials.
All other general enquiries must still be directed to the main switchboard number: 01843 577000
