Crufts - First Time, Third Place!

In August 2017, Dean Williams competed in the Novice Cup Semi-Final at the Kennel Club International Agility Festival. He came fourth and qualified for the Novice Cup Final at Crufts, the World’s Largest Dog Show.

Dean has been competing in Dog Agility for 13 years, he runs and trains a 5 year old Papillion called Obe, whose official Kennel Club name is Cintarshe Silver Obsidian.

On March 8, Dean travelled to the NEC in Birmingham to run two rounds in the Novice Cup Final. These two rounds were combined to give an overall result. This was the first time that Dean and Obe had been in a Crufts Final. They came 3rd in the Agility and the Jumping, giving a combined overall result of 3rd place in the Novice Cup Final 2018.

Dean is trained weekly by Andy Longley, Bob Humfrey and Heather Wright at Flying Fur Agility at Cottington Farm.

Dean said: “What an experience to be at Crufts! It was Obe's first time and he gave it his all, I could not be prouder of him!”
