Fegans
Since its preschool ‘Buttons’ moved to The Corner in Whitehall Road in February 2016, it has doubled in size and now has two separate rooms providing stimulating play spaces for 24 children aged 3-4 and 12 children aged 2-3 years old. The Corner is a welcoming community building incorporating a five-star coffee shop, indoor play area and community hall. Everyone is welcome to drop in and many groups and activities are based there.

In addition to the preschool, Fegans provides professional counselling services for children and adults, delivered by fully-qualified counsellors based at The Corner. There is a charge for these services but Fegans does offer a bursary scheme for families unable to meet the whole cost of counselling. Parents can also refer themselves to Fegans for one-to-one parenting support, tailored to the particular needs of the parent which can take place in a venue of their choice.

Following a successful pilot, the charity is now rolling out a new parenting programme – Parents Supporting Parents – in partnership with early help teams in Kent. The programme aims to strengthen vulnerable families and help them to build strong links in their local community, giving parents much needed social contact and an improved sense of self-worth. More details to be announced soon. For more information visit www.fegans.org.uk
